Davao City ~ Davao Region

Known as the Crown Jewel of Mindanao, Davao City is a fascinating blend of urban progress and natural beauty. It’s the proud home of Mount Apo, the country’s tallest peak; the Philippine eagle, one of the rarest and most majestic birds in the world; and the durian, the controversial “king of fruits” with its unmistakable aroma.

What sets Davao apart is its reputation as one of the safest, cleanest, and most organized cities in the Philippines. Local governance puts strong emphasis on safety, environmental conservation, and disaster preparedness  making it not just a great tourist destination but also a model city for sustainable living.

Fresh Durian  Davao is the durian capital of the Philippines, and whether you love it or can barely stand the smell, tasting it here is a must-try experience. Look for durian stalls around the city, especially at Magsaysay Park or in the night markets. If the smell intimidates you, start with durian candy, ice cream, or pastries for a gentler introduction.
